Nutrition

Canine, feline and human nutritional needs are similar in many ways. Both benefit from fresh, wholesome food. Such a diet is always healthier. Canines and Felines do well with a complete raw food diet or by eating fresh, homemade, human grade food. (That’s what pets ate before the pet food industry was born.)

Feed food that is meaty, fresh and moist. Avoid dry food at all costs. Kibble is high in fat and carbs, low in protein. Dry food creates deficiencies in our pets health that affects nearly every organ system. In Chinese medicine these are called deficiencies in Yin and Blood. In Western medicine it is called subclinical dehydration and anemia. Explore home prepared diets or even the BARF diet (raw food). Its worth the effort. Don’t forget enzymes and probiotics for proper digestion.
