Yearly Physical Examination & Pet Vaccine Titers
We recommend annual physical exams for your pet to ensure that your pet is receiving the best medical attention and is on schedule for appropriate pet vaccine titers to maintain optimal health. A vaccine titer is a blood test that determines the presence of antibodies that develop in response to the vaccine. The titer blood test will determine if your pet has an adequate amount of natural immunity to be able to ward of a disease should he or she come into contact with it. If the titer comes back low, a vaccination booster is given to the pet.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, when an animal is healthy, there is a circulation of energy, or “chi” along well-defined channels on the skin called meridians. Meridians are connected with internal organs, muscular and joint structures and the nervous system. Acupuncture points, which lie on the meridians, are areas at which the flow of “chi” can be influenced. In disease states, there is an imbalance or, or interference with the flow of energy. Dr. Sanderson can manipulate the energy flows by stimulating the acupuncture points, thus rectifying the disorder.
Acupuncture is a safe way to maintain good health by reducing tension, increasing circulation and strengthening your pet’s resistance to illness with no side effects from traditional drug treatments!
For permanent relief of pain caused by arthritis, hip dysplasia and other musculoskeletal disorders, we offer a procedure called Gold Bead/Wire Implants in which solid gold beads/wire are placed through a needle into acupuncture points. These gold beads/wires remain in place and allow permanent acupuncture stimulation to the point thus alleviating pain and promoting normal joint function. Gold Bead/Wire Implants can also be used to control epilepsy and seizures.
Frequently, we see dramatic improvements in an animal’s health just by changing the diet! You can boost your pet’s health profoundly by preparing food yourself with fresh ingredients. We offer several easy-to-prepare recipes that your pet is sure to love.
If you’re too busy to cook for your pet, we offer healthy natural foods for your animal companion free from by-products, chemicals and preservatives. You can mix the homemade diet with them or use them alone. Some examples are Weruva, Wellness and Precise Holistic. Dr. Sanderson will evaluate your animal’s personal dietary needs to include proper balance of vitamins, nutrients, and digestive enzymes so that your pet may live a healthier, longer life.
Veterinary Spinal Manipulation
Veterinary Spinal Manipulation (VSM) is similar to chiropractic care in that it is the manipulation of the spine to restore its normal motion and alignment. Doing so relieves any restrictions on the nerves of the spinal cord that could impair their function and the function of the organs they innervate. VSM provides accurate and precise adjustments to specific areas of the animal’s spine. If a subluxation is present, it can be detected and reduced quickly without pain or injury by directing precise adjustments. Correcting these misalignments relieves pain and enhances the animal’s mobility.
How can we tell if your animal companion is in pain?
There are several signs that an animal is in pain. As your animals’ primary caretaker, you will notice changes in your animal i.e. limping, difficulty breathing, moping, etc. Any changes in your animal’s normal attitude may indicate he or she is experiencing pain. Even urinating outside the litter box may indicate your cat is telling you something is wrong – and it may have nothing to do with his/her urinary tract! Our job is to determine what your animal is telling us, where he/she hurts and relieve the pain from its source.
How can we help relieve the pain?
On your first visit, we will evaluate every aspect of your animal’s daily routine including diet, exercise, as well as completing a physical and EMOTIONAL examination. Dr. Sanderson will use chiropractic and orthopedic manipulation to determine where the pain originates.
We believe animals experience emotional pain and upset just like humans. Sometimes these emotions are exhibited in physical signs or symptoms. Depending upon the problem, we may use a combination of homeopathic remedies, flower essences, Chinese or Western herbs AND we will show you massage and acupressure techniques you can do at home to relieve pain naturally.

Ozone Therapy is activated oxygen, O3. The normal air we breathe is O2. Oxygen therapies are a natural alternative to detoxify and kill infectious bacteria and are absolutely essential for the health of cells. The ozone activates the red blood cells and makes oxygen more readily available to tissues. It has also been found to be beneficial in treating inflammatory processes such as arthritis, strained muscles and trigger points. We use this treatment for things such as bacteria and virus inactivation, circulatory enhancement and wound healing. It induces enzyme production, activates immune system responses, advances the healing of fractures and can even be used in the disruption of malignant tumors.
Herbal Remedies are centuries old combinations of Chinese Herbal formulas that help re-establish a healthy balance in your animal’s body. These formulas are used in combination with acupuncture and work synergistically to promote long-term health.
The medical philosophy and practice of homeopathy is based on the body having the ability to heal itself. The idea is that “like cures like.” It utilizes a small amount of a substance that creates similar symptoms when taken in larger amounts thus stimulating your pet’s own healing processes.
