Scott Sanderson, D.V.M.
Dr. Sanderson has been practicing veterinary medicine in Howard County since 1986. After receiving his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Sanderson decided to specialize in holistic veterinary care. He is certified in veterinary acupuncture, has NAET certification and advanced training in alternate healing modalities. Dr. Sanderson is a member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncturists. He has appeared on numbers of television segments highlighting alternative methods of veterinary care.
A longtime resident of Columbia, Dr. Sanderson enjoys riding his bike, swimming and playing with Boodha, his cockapoo. He loves meeting new people who are interested in natural healing methods for humans and animals. He is a lifelong Green Bay Packers super fan.
Emi Izquierdo, Vet Tech
Emi has worked with Dr. Sanderson at the Animal Wellness Center since 1994. She started her career with animals as a kennel aid in the late 80’s. With on the job training, she worked her way up to an assistant/technician. Emi has always loved animals and couldn’t imagine doing anything else!
Emi is married and has two children. She also shares her home with 2 cats, Kira and Pearl and 2 dogs, Kumiko and Tootsie.
In her spare time she loves to do crafts, sewing, drawing, baking and cake decorating.
Lynn, Vet Assistant
Lynn has always had a love for animals since a young age, and any chance she had, she was always trying to help them.
Lynn is engaged and shares her home with three dogs (Nevaeh, Lexi, and Mack) and four cats (Orca, Fluffernutter, Stitch, and Captain “Jack”). With each having their own unique personalities, there is never a dull moment in her house!
She is currently working on her Associates degree at Carroll Community College, along side with the Nursing Program to reach her goal of one day becoming a hospice nurse.
Boodha Sanderson, Office Mascot
Boodha is the office mascot and protector of all things here at the Animal Wellness Center. He loves to eat raw food, go on walks, and perform tricks. You'll know if he likes you if he invites you into the "inner sanctum" and allows you to rub his belly!
