Vaccines

Vaccinations should be given few and far between. Our philosophy about vaccinations for our animal companions has changed dramatically over the past years. We are convinced that vaccines have been overused and actually may contribute to the destruction or our pet’s immune systems.

We only vaccinate young, healthy animals who are at risk of exposure to contagious disease. We take an annual blood test to determine antibody response. This is called a blood titer. If titers are adequate, no vaccines are necessary! Maryland law states that all dogs and cats must be vaccinated for rabies every three years. We must obey the law! However, if your pet is sick, we will not vaccinate.
